Dr.
Braciak has been testing combinatory therapies designed
to alter the tumor microenvironment as well as elicit
T and/or NK cell responses to affect the treatment of
prostate cancer. The tumor microenvironment can negatively
affect tumor immune response and needs to be one of
the targets in multifaceted therapeutic tumor regimens.
In this research, one strategy is to use gene therapy
with a recombinant adenovirus expressing interleukin-12
(Ad5IL-12) for intratumor injection to alter the tumor
microenvironment to make it more favorable to elicited
tumor immune response.
